TERMS & CONDITIONS OF UCB Cards REWARDS
Bank means United Commercial Bank Limited and only refers to the branches of United Commercial Bank carrying on business in Bangladesh.
Business Day means a day other than a Govt. Holiday or Weekly Holiday that Bank is Open for business in Bangladesh.
Credit Card means a Card that is validly issued by the Bank to a Cardholder, in good standing in all respects and is not in payments arrears or otherwise in default in any date of redemption of points by a Cardholder during the same Rewards Program.
Card Account means the Credit Card Account opened by the Bank for the purpose of entering all credits and debits received or incurred by the Primary Cardholder and the Supplementary/ additional Cardholder, if any, under the terms and conditions governing the Card Account.
Cardholder means a customer of the Bank owning a Credit Card.
Primary Cardholder means the person to whom Bank issues the primary Credit Card.
Supplementary Card means a Credit Card issued to a person the Primary Cardholder authorizes as a Supplementary Cardholder.
Supplementary Cardholder means each person the Primary Cardholder authorizes as a Supplementary Cardholder.
Commencement Date means the date on which the Bank commences RewardsProgram in Bangladesh.
Conditions mean the Terms and Conditions of the RewardsProgram, as amended by the Bank from time to time.
Program means the UCB Rewards Program in Bangladesh.
Rewards Catalog means the Catalog of Rewards published by the Bank from time to time.
RewardsProgram means the benefit program for Cardholdersoperated by the Bank from time to time pursuant to the Conditions.
Tk or Taka means the lawful currency of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh.
Reward Point means a point accumulated by a Cardholder towardsparticipation in the RewardsProgram through Credit Card use by thatCardholder. Reward Points calculation is determined by the Bank andcan be varied from time to time.
Service Establishment means a business or organization which accepts UCB Credit Card in Bangladesh.
1.2 The Conditions are supplemental to and in no way to the exclusion of thegeneral Terms and Conditions of issue of Credit Cards. To the extent, if anyinconsistency between the Conditions and the general Terms and Conditionsof issue of Credit Cards, the general Terms and Conditions shall apply to theexclusion of these Conditions.
2.1 The RewardsProgramis a bonus points scheme which rewards the Customer with points based on the amount they have spent using their Credit Card(s). It is established by the Bank to RewardCardholders for their loyalty and credit worthiness in the use of Credit Cards. TheRewardsProgram will enable Cardholders to accumulateReward Points that may subsequently be redeemed for Rewards asdetailed in Rewards Catalog subject to the Conditions.
2.2 Entitlement to participate in the RewardsProgram is limited toUCB Credit Cardholders, whose Credit Cards are validand in good standing in all respects with the Bank and are not in paymentarrears or otherwise in default in way at the commencement date or at anytime thereafter. This program does not include other Credit Cards orInternational Cards issued by the Bank.
2.3 Each Cardholder holding a UCBCredit Card at thecommencement date shall automatically qualify to participate in theRewards Program and may accumulate Reward Point from thecommencement date. Cardholder acquiring Credit Cards after thecommencement date will participate in the RewardsProgram from thedate their Credit Cards are activated and become effective.
2.4 No Reward Point shall accrue in respect of a transaction where Bankbelieves that:
(a) A false, inaccurate, or fraudulent Credit Card transaction has
occurred.
(b) The accuracy, amount or other particulars of any Credit Card
transaction are disputed by the Bank, a Cardholder, the retailer or any
other party;
(c) The validity or any credit transaction for payment purpose is
challenged for any reason whatsoever;
Following investigation, if the Bank determines that the transaction is valid andaccurate in all respects; the Reward Points attributable to that transaction willbe accumulated for the Cardholder.
2.5 Unless otherwise determined by the Bank, any breach of the Conditions or thegeneral Terms and Conditions of issue of Credit Cards by anyCardholder shall automatically disqualify that Cardholder from participation in theRewards Program and any Reward Points that have beenaccumulated by that Cardholder shall be immediately forfeited.
2.6 Where Cardholder wishes to cancel his Credit Card or any SupplementaryCard, any redemption of Reward Points arising from the relevant Card forRewards by that Cardholder must occur prior to cancellation. Anyaccumulated Reward Points that exist upon cancellation of a Credit Cardshall be immediately forfeited.
2.7 The accumulated Reward Points relating to a Credit Card shallimmediately be forfeited upon expiration of that Credit Card.
2.8 Points earned through spending by a Supplementary Cardholder will becredited to the Account of Primary Cardholder and may be used by thePrimary Cardholder for redemption of the Rewards.
2.9 All questions or disputes regarding eligibility for the Program or the eligibility of Rewards Points for accrual or redemption of Rewards will be resolved by the Bank at its sole discretion.
3.1 A Cardholder will accumulate Reward Points by reference to the value ofretails purchases, less any reversals of retail purchases, made by thatCardholder using his/her Credit Card during the course of the RewardsProgram. A Cardholder shall not accumulate any Reward Point inrelation to
Bank may at any time vary the range of Credit Card transaction that qualify for points under the RewardsProgram.
3.2 Unless otherwise determined by the Bank at any time, a Cardholder will accumulate one Reward Point for every Tk. 50 or USD 1 of qualifying retailpurchases charged to his/her Credit Card during the Rewards Program period. Reward Points will accumulate on a monthly basis byreference to the total value of qualifying retail purchase made during thatmonth. The monthly Credit Card statement issued by the Bank will specify theReward Points earned during the statement period together with theaccumulated Reward Point of the Cardholder. In case of fraction amounts, the remaining unused transaction amount after calculating Rewards Points for the whole amount in multiples of Tk. 50 will not be accrued or clubbed with future qualifying transactions.
3.3 Unless otherwise determined by the Bank, each RewardsProgram will run for a specified period and the Bank shall determine the duration oneach RewardsProgram period in its sole discretion.
3.4 For the purpose of the calculation and redemption of the Reward Pointsfor Rewards, where a Cardholder owns a Primary Credit Card that has anattaching Supplementary Credit Card, the points that are accumulated on thePrimary and Supplementary Credit Card will be aggregated for the purpose ofcalculating Rewards entitlements. In such circumstances, however onlythe Primary Cardholder (and not a Supplementary Cardholder) may redeemthe accumulated Reward Points for Rewards. Where a Cardholderholds two or more separate Credit Cards, the Reward Points that may beaccumulated on each such Credit Card shall remain separate and distinct and may not be aggregated for any purpose.
3.5 Rewards Points accrued in a Credit Card are not the property of the Cardholder and are non-transferable, cashed out, sold, transferred or otherwise assigned from one Cardholder to another.
3.6 All RewardsProgram date and records kept by the Bank, including information, shall be final and binding on all Cardholders. No Cardholder shallbe entitled to challenge the validity or accuracy of Bank's RewardsProgram, date or records for any purpose whatsoever.
3.7 The RewardsProgram is subject to automatic annual renewal unless discontinued or amended by the Bank at its sole discretion.
3.8 If the Credit Card is cancelled and a new Credit Card account is subsequently opened at a later date, Bank is not obligated to transfer points accrued under the previous Credit Card account to the new account, unless it is agreed otherwise in writing.
4.1 Rewards Points may be redeemed provided all enrolled Credit Cards are in good standing at the time of the redemption request. Any redemption request of Cardholders having an overdue with 1 month or above aging, at the time of the redemption request, would not be eligible.
4.2 Rewards Points accrued in the Cardholder’s Credit Card can only beredeemed by the Primary Cardholder.
4.3 Annual fee and other fees waiver areapplicable for Primary and supplementary Cardholder.
4.4 In case of Service Establishments with multiple outlets, the Cardholder must select the specific outlet from which s/he will redeem the voucher at the time of makingredemption request to the Call Center or Customer Service.
4.5 By redeeming a Reward, the Cardholder releases the Bank and its affiliates from any and all liability regarding the redemption or use of the Reward.
4.6 Any dispute concerning goods or services received as a Reward under the Programs hall be settled between the Cardholder and the Service Establishment, whichsupplied the goods or services. The Bank will bear no responsibility for resolving suchdisputes, or for the dispute itself.
4.7 The Bank is not responsible for lost or stolen Rewards and Reward vouchers.
4.8 Redeemed Rewards are not exchangeable for other Rewards, or refundable, replaceable, or transferable for cash or credit under any circumstances.
4.9 Once accrued Rewards Points in a Cardholder’s Credit Card have been redeemed for any Reward in the Program, such Points cannot be refunded or transferred back into the Cardholder’s Program Account.
4.10 Information supplied on the redemption of Rewards may be used by the Bank or the Service Establishments that provide the Rewards for administrative and marketing purposes.
4.11 The Bank reserves the right to cancel, change or substitute the Rewards or theRewards conditions at any time with or without notice.
4.12 All Rewards are subject to availability and certain restrictions may apply.The redemption procedure and the terms and conditions applicable to each Reward are set forth in the Rewards voucher issued to the Cardholder.
4.13 Any additional meals, transportation or accommodation arrangements made in connection with any Rewards will be the sole responsibility of the Cardholder.
4.14 In the event that the Reward takes the form of a cash coupon, should the Cardholderpurchase goods or services in excess of the value noted on the cash coupon, theCardholder must use the Card to settle payment or the difference to the participatingService Establishment.If the value of goods and services requested through the use of the Rewards Voucher is below the value stated in the Rewards Voucher, Bank or the merchant will not refund the difference
4.15 Unless otherwise specified, allowing usage of the Rewards voucher inassociation with other special offers offered by the Service Establishment will be at thesole discretion of the Service Establishment.
4.16 Issuance of a dining or travel Rewards voucher might not constitute a reservation.The Rewards voucher holder is responsible for making all reservations and notifying the participating Services Establishment of the Reward(s) they are going to redeem.
4.17 Other UCB Card benefits may not apply to goods or services receivedas Rewards under the Program.
4.18 Cardholders may accumulate Rewards Points and redeem thosePoints for Rewards from the current Rewards Catalog only.
4.19 All Rewards shall be subject to availability and Cardholders acknowledge that the stocks of all the Rewards shall be limited. Where the stocks of any Rewards have been exhausted and Bank cannot replace it with a similar product/model of equivalent value that Rewards shall cease to be available. Bank shall have no obligation or liability to any Cardholder where a Reward ceases to be available. Where a Cardholder attempts to claim a Reward that has ceased to be available. Bank will advise the Cardholder of that fact and the sole entitlement of that Cardholder shall be to claim an alternative Reward for a similar number of Reward Points.
4.20 Cardholders shall direct all enquiries, requests or correspondence in relation ofthe Rewards Program, including redemption of RewardsPoints for Rewards, to the Customer Service Center number ornumbers as may be notified by the Bank by general publication or otherwise fromtime to time. Cardholders’ redemption requests shall be made in writing/ by telephone orother method approved by the Bank from time to time. Only Primary Cardholderwill be able to request a Reward.
4.21 The Bank will issue a Rewards voucher along with a Notification Letterto the Cardholder in his/her billing address advising him/her to collect theRewards from a specific Service Establishment. If the Cardholder instruct us to issue and deliver the voucher to an address other that the address in our database, the address for delivery of the voucher will not be used to update address in our database. The Cardholder will present the Rewards voucher to the designated Service Establishment togetherwith his/her Credit Card and sign an acknowledgement receipt for the Reward. Themerchant will match the signature of the Cardholder at the back of the CreditCard and then deliver the Reward to the Cardholder.
4.22 It is anticipated that the Bank shall require 10 working days time to process request for Rewards and send Rewards Redemption Voucher to Cardholders. Bank will have no liability for any delay in processing Rewards to Cardholders or for any loss in transit or delivery.
4.23 Reward items in the form of a ticket or voucher shall, unless the Bank otherwise specifies, exclude any reservation fees, accommodation, insurance, travel tax orother taxes and fees. All such additional fees, charges or taxes applicable to the useof such a Reward shall be borne by the Cardholder and shall be paid directly to the Service Establishment by the Cardholder upon redemption or use of that Reward.
4.24 All taxes or duties or other Government or public utility fees or charges attributable to the redemption or use of any Rewards shall be the exclusive responsibility of the Cardholder and the Bank shall have no liability of any kind inrelation thereto.
4.25 A Cardholder may only be able to claim a Reward that is available in the mostrecent Rewards Catalog at the date of redemption request or asdecided by the Bank.
4.26 Cardholders will have a period of 3 months from the date of expiration of a Rewards Program within which, to redeem the Reward Points accumulated during that period for Rewards. This may only be claimed from the Rewards Catalog that is applicable at the date of Redemption of Reward Points.
4.27 If the redemption request is not made in person, it will be assumed that all redemption requests made through electronic banking or e-mail are made in the capacity as Primary Cardholder.
4.28 All requests will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, and are subject to sufficient points, and rewards availability.
4.29 Bank provides no guarantees, warranties or assurances to Cardholders concerning the quality of any Reward or its fitness for any particular use or purpose. Rewards shall be received and used by Cardholders at their sole risk. Bank shall have no liability whatsoever for any loss, damage or injury arising to the Cardholder or any other person or properties as a result of the use of any Reward for any purpose whatsoever. The exclusive rights and remedies of a Cardholder in respect of the use of any Reward shall be as permitted by law of Bangladesh against the actual manufacturer or merchant of that Reward.
5.1 Bank will periodically publish a Rewards Catalog during the course of a Rewards Program.
5.2 The description of any Reward in any Rewards Catalog shall bebased exclusively on the information provided to Bank by the merchant ormanufacturer of that Reward. Cardholders acknowledge that all issuesrelating to the after-sales-service of Rewards, including batteries oraccessories shall be exclusively between the Cardholder and the Merchant ormanufacturer of the Reward and shall not form a part of the Rewards Program.
5.3 Where redemption or use any Reward is subject to a Cardholderparticipation in the program of the provider of that Reward, redemption of use of that Reward by the cardholder will beconditional on the Cardholder first being a member of that provider'smembership program. Such membership programs may include, without limitation; those operated by airlines, hotels or other service providers.
5.4 The Reward Catalog is valid for a year or for any period as decided bythe Bank from the date of commencement.
6.1 All taxes or duties of other Government or public utility fees or chargesattributable to the redemption or use of any Reward shall be the exclusiveresponsibility of the Cardholder and the Bank shall have no liability of any kindin relation thereto.
6.2 Bank shall have no liability whatsoever in relation to any inaccuracy ormis-description contained in any Rewards Catalog.
6.3 The laws of Bangladesh govern these conditions.
6.4 Notwithstanding anything contained elsewhere in these conditions, Bank in its sole discretion for any reason whatsoever, at any time vary, modify suspend or cancel;
(a) The RewardsProgram or any of the conditions
(b) The participation of any individual Cardholder in the RewardsProgram. In such a case, the Bank may or may not give written notice to Primary Cardholders. Any such variation, modification, suspension or cancellationshall take effect from the date specified in such notice and the Bank shall haveno liability or obligations of any kind to Cardholders or any other persons forany loss or damage suffered as a result thereof.
6.5 In performing of the RewardsProgram, Bank shall not be responsiblefor any delay or non-performance arising as a result of any matter beyond thereasonable control of the Bank. Matters beyond the reasonable control of theBank shall include, without limitation, any breach, failure or non-performanceby the manufacturer or merchant of any Reward; industrial disputes(including strike, lockouts and the like) acts of God (flood, fire, earthquake etc.)riot, demonstration or civil disturbances of any kind, damage or destruction tomachinery, equipment or records of Bank or any Rewards provider, actsof war or sabotage of any kind, any change in the laws, regulations or policiesof Government of Bangladesh or in the interpretation thereof, or any othermatter impacting on performance of the RewardsProgram by theBank. In such an event continues for a continuous period of three months, orfor more than four months in any twelve month period, Bank may immediatelyterminate the RewardsProgram by notice in writing. Upontermination, the Bank shall be released from all obligations under the Rewards Program and shall have no liability of any kind to Cardholders orany other person.
6.6 The decision of the Bank in all matters of the Program will be final andbinding on the participants of the subject Program.
1. What is UCB Cards Rewards Programme?
UCB Cards Rewards Program is our way of thanking you for choosing our Card.
2. Who are eligible to participate in the UCB Credit Cards Rewards Programme?
All UCB Credit Cardholders, holding valid Card Accounts are eligible to participate in the programme.
3. How can I enroll myself in the rewards programme?
As UCB Cardholder, Enrolment is automatic for all Cardholders.
4. How do I earn Rewards Points?
You will earn 1 point for every BDT 50 or $1 spent on qualifying purchases with your UCB credit card. It’s that easy. The Bank reserves the right to change at any time, the ratio between (a) the number of Rewards Points to be awarded; and (b) the specified amount charged to the Card Account. Any refunded retail purchases will not earn Rewards Points.
5. When will the Rewards Points be awarded?
For every BDT 50 or $1 retail spend charged to the Cardholder's relevant Card Account, 1 Rewards Point will be awarded immediately and will be reflected in Cardholder's monthly statement.
6. Is there a cap on the amount of Rewards Points I can earn or redeem?
There is no limit or cap on the Rewards Points you can earn or redeem.

Sorry, this cannot be done. Rewards redemption can only be done against the card on which the reward points were accrued.
10. What happens if the Card account is terminated?
If the BasicCardholder's Card Account is terminated at any time for any reason, either by the BasicCardholder or the Bank, the BasicCardholder and Supplementary Cardholder(s) will forthwith be disqualified from participating in the Programme and all unused Rewards Points then accrued shall automatically be cancelled and forfeited, without further notice from the Bank.
11. What happens to my reward points when my Card is upgraded/downgraded?
In the event of an upgrade/downgrade, your reward points will be transferred to your new account.
12. What is the validity of my Rewards Points?
Validity of reward points is 3 years from the date of reward points earned. However, it is sole discretion of the Bank to determine the validity period.
13. Where can I view my Rewards Points balance?
Your Rewards Points balance will be reflected on your monthly Credit Card statement.

The Rewards Voucher is valid for three months from the date of issuance unless stated otherwise.

Increase your points balance by giving Supplementary Credit Cards to you loved ones. All transactions made on the Supplementary Card add to your rewards tally. You can gift a supplementary card to maximum 3 persons.
23. If I want to shop less than the amount mentioned on the shopping voucher redeemed from the reward programme, can I adjust the difference or claim cash for the difference amount?
In the event that the reward redeemed by you is a shopping voucher, the item(s) selected by you should be at least of the face value mentioned on the reward voucher.
24. Are my reward points exchangeable for Cash?
Points accumulated in the reward programme cannot be exchanged for cash.
